The BUEC 2024 Winter season is over! All series have been played, all the points have been counted. 114 universities have joined the fight to be crowned Esports University of the Year, though we'll see who that is by the end of Spring 2025. In the meantime, let's see what happened this Winter...

Top 10 Summary
The
University of Warwick tops the table with another consistent showing, the University of Southampton also put in a great performance coming in second place, followed by the University of Portsmouth, the University of Nottingham in fourth, and then Swansea University in fifth.

The University of Warwick sits comfortably at the top of the table after another strong season of performances across the board. However, their lead has significantly decreased in comparison to last Winter season where they were leading by 1,162 points, now only leading by 607 points.

The University of Southampton had an amazing Winter season and continues to be consistently in the top five, coming in second place and matching their great Winter 23 performance. However, in Spring 24 they failed to hold onto their podium position and finished in fourth overall, will they continue strong and finish on the podium as they did in 2021 and 2022?

Trailing by just only three BUEC points, the University of Portsmouth has put in a great effort into holding their third place spot, narrowly missing out on second place to their varsity rivals will be hard but holding onto a top-three finish is still impressive.

The University of Nottingham have done amazing this season as they finish in their highest spot yet of fourth place. Hopefully we can see them continue to improve and challenge the top three further.

Swansea University continues to be a staple at the top end of the leaderboard, even though they drop from second place, their consistent results across the board has seen them make the top five this year.

Looking back at last season, the University of Exeter and King's College London also feature in the top ten once again, sitting in eighth and ninth place respectively.

Compared to last year, three new universities are joining this exclusive top ten group; Cardiff University, the University of Manchester and the University of Staffordshire have all displayed impressive performances the past year to make it in.
