Becoming an intern at Intel Corporation gives you access to a great range of opportunities, enabling you to apply your skills to global projects and support industry leading innovations. At Intel our interns are given the responsibility to take on a creditable job role, making their own decisions and taking the lead on their own projects. Our Buddy Scheme pairs each intern up with an experienced member of staff in their team, giving them someone to talk to about anything, whenever! At Intel interns are treated as equals and you will be a valued member of the workforce with access to the same benefits and perks as other employees!

Benefits
As an Intern at Intel you would earn a base salary of £17,300 per annum. You will also be entitled to the company’s two types of bonuses: the quarterly profit bonus and the annual performance bonus subject to guidelines. In addition to this as an intern you would receive a £1000 starting bonus as a welcome to Intel, and a £1000 finishing bonus if you complete your 13-month placement, as a thank you for your hard work. You would also receive 24 days paid holiday (per annum) and 2 paid study days. Other benefits include free hot and cold drinks, free fruit and even free sports and subsidised use of leisure facilities at the Marriott Hotel, Swindon. Intel prides itself on being an enjoyable workplace which is why we invest heavily in the Great Place To Work programme, our corporate-wide initiative that focuses on fun events for employees. Through the scheme Intel has set up fitness classes, a games room and beauty facilities, as well as events such as barbeques and holiday festivities which also encourage friends and family to get involved. The onsite and local benefits vary at sites outside of Swindon.
Eligibility
Full-time second year undergraduate students are eligible to apply for positions within Intel's 13-month placement scheme. Intel student placement must fulfil a requirement of your degree, and you must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. It's important to know that Intel Corporation (UK) Ltd. is committed to equal opportunity employment. Intel respects, values, and welcomes diversity. For our 13 month placement opportunities we are looking for excellent students enrolled in university studying toward a bachelor’s degree. We sometimes have shorter placements available on an ad hoc basis, and for these, we welcome students enrolled in bachelors, masters, or doctoral programs.
Intern Community
At Intel approximately 50 interns are hired each year over many different departments. This provides a network of interns within Intel. Although each intern is part of a team, the intern community provides them with support, guidance and friendship, making the transition from university to the workplace smoother. Many of the interns are from different universities all over the UK therefore the interns often share housing around the Swindon area. Living with other interns also allows you to explore Swindon together in your free time. Although the majority of our interns are hired to work at the Swindon site, there are also intern opportunities at other sites including Marlow and Basingstoke.

Intern Committees
Within this network the interns have set up several different committees which you can become a part of.
