Education and Esports is a conference hosted by the Manchester Metropolitan University Esports Society, aimed at promoting esports within the UK university scene. There are a variety of speakers representing different spaces within the esports industry and have been invited to give talks and interviews.
Introducing the speakers:
Lara Lunardi currently works for InvenGlobal as the Content and Social Media Manager. She also has a large following on her Instagram where she posts awesome cosplays.
David Smith is the founder and COO of Women In Games, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making esports a more diverse and inclusive space.
Parkes Ousley is a full-time journalist and content creator for Inven Global, mainly covering League of Legends, but dabbling in other esports as well. He is most interested in finding ways in which fans can connect with their favorite players, through interviews, videos, and photography.
Jonny Hockey is an Aussie that moved to the US to get his start in esports with Esports One after meeting the CEO, Matt Gunnin, on Linkedin. He worked in operations in the companies early days, but now is the VP of Content!
Jordan O’Hara is the VP of Product and the first employee at Esports One. He got his start in esports volunteering for Esportspedia while working full-time in corporate IT. Once Esports One got it's first round of funding he quit his job in Virginia and moved to NYC to start his career!
The conference will run on Friday the 18th of September, starting at 6pm and concluding at 9pm (GMT) and will be being hosted on the MMU Esports Society twitch channel.
