Are you part of the next wave of esports talent?
Like last year, applications are open to all students studying full-time at UK universities, giving you the chance to connect with industry experts, gain valuable knowledge, and take steps towards fully realising your potential.
There are 20 spaces available on the programme this year, and much like in the 2021/22 academic year, you'll receive one-on-one sessions with leaders in the esports and gaming industry if you're successful in your application. Some sessions will also be streamed in part to the wider student community, followed by private Q&A sessions for the Intel FutureGen cohort afterwards.
We saw a variety of speakers join us last year from a different areas of the industry, including:
Some of our speakers are also part of the Intel FutureGen buddy system, which is back again this year! This system will pair professionals in the esports and gaming space with members of the cohort to provide industry insights over the programme’s duration. Industry buddies for last year's programme also included experts from brands such as Ubisoft, Xbox, Unity, and Faceit.
Alex Coulson, Managing Director at NSE said:
“The previous cohort were an amazing group of talented individuals, it’s great to see many of them in roles at leading companies like Pokémon, Esports Insider and Excel. Thank you to all the industry figures involved and especially Intel who enable us to do this program and provide a fantastic opportunity and accolade for our students that are aspiring esports industry professionals.”
Mark Broom, UK Consumer Client Marketing Specialist at Intel Corporation said:
“We're delighted to continue collaborating with NSE on the Intel FutureGen programme and nurturing future leaders in the esports and gaming industries. Intel is proud to empower students to grow their passion and enhance their future career prospects.”
Daria Ionita, Market Development Associate at The Pokémon Company International and part of the 2022 Cohort of Intel FutureGen said:
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity that NSE and Intel have given me to get my foot in the door in esports. The industry buddy that I was assigned to was a perfect match for me in almost all aspects, which is what made the experience extraordinary for me personally. I also had the opportunity to attend industry events like ESI London and meet fellow students in my cohort that are as passionate as me. I can’t recommend this programme enough. I wouldn’t have been where I am now without it.”
Applications for students are now open until Monday 21st November. Applicants will be expected to complete four questions, three of which are written and one as a short video. A panel of industry judges, announced in late November, will review a shortlist of applications and select twenty finalists.
Intel FutureGen delivers a series of guest speakers from senior industry leaders plus exclusive Q&As, workshops, a new industry buddy system, access to industry events, and much more. Running through the academic year, the programme is delivered across a mix of digital and physical experiences and is a real opportunity and accolade for any aspiring esports industry professional.
