About Us

Welcome to Northumbria Esports Club!

Northumbria Esports Club was born in 2018 after a number of unofficial efforts since 2015.  The Club is officially sanctioned and supported by the University directly and the club's goal is to bring all Esports players together under one banner.  We aim to offer the best competitive experience in Newcastle.  We have shared access to our own on-campus gaming lab where you can go and practice together with your team to improve or where you can play your live matches for the NSE all together in one environment.  We have facilities for teams to watch games back and analyse their performance to see where they could improve and we offer limited opportunities to those interested in casting our competitive games on our Twitch Channel.  Last year our varsity with Newcastle University made the front page on Twitch.

Last academic year we had members visit Insomnia 64 in Birmingham and the League of Legends Championship Korea in Seoul and the League of Legends European Championship in Berlin for the start of the Spring 2019 Split.

2018-2019 Membership got you:  Free food on a Wednesday afternoon in the Holy Hobo, discounts in a load of bars, restaurants and shops in Newcastle.  Exclusive access to the Riot Games Realms events for League of Legends players (exclusive prizes, skins, plushies and other merch that you can't buy elsewhere).  Try out for the Game Belong Arena Clash at Metrocentre (Overwatch, LoL, R6S and Rocket League).

We have a club shirt and we also have regular socials - everything from our Halloween Party night to food at the local Korean BBQ!

This year we want to put together as many teams as possible for as many games as possible.

Visit us and follow us on Facebook/Twitter/Twitch.Tv using the link below, join our Discord and chat to other freshers and prospective new members and come along and meet us at the University Sports Fayre - 25th of September 2019 in Sports Central.
