MultiVersus Teams NSE Winter is split into 2 main stages: Stage 1 Qualification (Weeks 1-4) and Stage 2 Playoffs (Weeks 5-6)

Stage 1 - Qualification

In Stage 1, teams will play up to 6 matches each night against teams on their win rate, earning 1 point per win, but if they lose two matches will get no further games until next week.

Stage 2 - Playoffs

The top 4/8 teams (based on sign-ups), will progress into Stage 2. They will play in a Double Elimination bracket to decide their final placing.

In addition to other prizes this tournament awards British University Esports Championship Points.


  • All players must be current students from the same university. 
  • Teams must have at least 2 players. Teams may add/remove players from team between weeks.
  • If teams are more than 20 minutes late they will forfeit a match.
  • Check-in deadline is 6:30pm. Teams who don't check-in will not get games for that evening.
  • Offensive Warner Bros Account and Team names are not allowed.
  • Verbal abuse is not allowed. In particular any use of racist, sexist, homophobic or any other discriminatory language will lead to a minimum 3-week suspension.

  • Time: 7 Minutes
  • Hazards: Off

Match Procedure

  1. Each team designates their first player
  2. Team A bans a starter stage
  3. Team B bans two starter stages
  4. Team A picks a starter stage from the two remaining
  5. Each team then blind picks characters for first stage
  6. The teams play the first game of the set
  7. The winning team of the previous game bans any two stages
  8. The new team picks a stage for the next game
  9. The winning team are character locked and must stay the same characters as their previous game
  10. The new team chooses their characters
  11. Both teams may select new perks in the perk selection screen
  12. The next game is played
  13. This is repeated until the series is over

All decisions regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these rules is at the sole discretion of the NSE Admin Team, whose decisions are final.
These rules may be amended, changed or supplemented when required by the NSE Admin Team to ensure fair play and competitive integrity.
