Overwatch 2 Women & Non-Binary NSE Spring Cup is a two day event with the Swiss stage being on Sunday 16th of March the Playoff stage on Sunday 23rd March.

This tournament is open to women (cis and trans) and non-binary members of our community.

Mixed university team signup
For this event 2 universities may choose to partner to form teams together. If two universities decide to share teams for this event they must do so for all teams entering this event. For example if "University A" partners with "University B" they cannot also pair with university C if they wish to make a second team. If you wish to sign up with a mixed team please create a team with players from your university and fill in this form.

In addition to other prizes this tournament awards British University Esports Championship Points. Mixed teams will split points evenly between the two universities.

RULES SUMMARY

  • All players must be current students
  • Teams must consist of players from "playing entity". For this event a playing entity is either a individual university or a agreement between 2 universities to compete together. 
  • All players must be women (cis or trans) or non-binary.
  • All games are on the European region
  • Teams must have at least 5 players. Teams may add/remove players from team between weeks.
  • If teams are more than 20 minutes late they will forfeit a match.
  • Check in deadline is 12:30pm. Teams who don't check in will not get games for that evening.
  • Offensive player and team names are not allowed.
  • Verbal abuse is not allowed. In particular any use of racist, sexist, homophobic or any other discriminatory language will lead to a minimum 3 week suspension.

In addition to NSE rules all players must comply with Overwatch 2 terms of service at all times including, but not limited to, any account sharing policies.

Players are expected to uphold the NSE Code of Conduct whilst competing in this tournament

GAME SETTINGS

  • Competitive Rules: On
  • Kill cam: Disabled
  • Skins: Enabled
  • Lobby Code: AWFW4
    • This code may change during the season, make sure to check discord for the most up to date code.
  • Teams must use 2 DPS, 2 Support and 1 Tank
    • Once you have started the game, you are not allowed to swap roles
    • You can switch roles between modes.

MAP POOL

All maps picked must be picked from the following map pools.

Map Pool A - Control: Lijiang Tower, Nepal, Samoa
Map Pool B - Hybrid/Flashpoint*: Blizzard World, Eichenwalde, Numbani, Suravasa
Map Pool C - Push/Clash*: Colosseo, Esperança, Hanaoka
Map Pool D - Escort: Dorado, Havana, Route: 66

BEST OF THREE

The home team can pick to be Team A or B for the first map.

  • Team B picks the map pool for the first map
  • Team A picks the first map from the selected map pool, Team B picks the starting side
  • After each game, the loser of the previous game a map from a map pool that has not already been used, with the winner choosing the side.
  • In the case of a tie, a map from the unplayed pool will be selected.


BEST OF FIVE

The home team can pick to be Team A or B for the first map.

  • Team A picks a control map from Map Pool A, then each team bans a hero (more info below)
  • After each game, the loser of the previous game chooses a map from the remaining map pools, with the winner choosing the side. Then each team banks a hero (more info below)
  • For the 5th map, the loser of the previous game chooses from the remaining unplayed Control, Flashpoint or Push maps.
    • In the 5th map, a previously played mode may be selected.

HERO BANS

In best of 5 matches, each team will ban a hero.

  • The team that picked the map bans the first hero.
  • The other team bans the second hero.
  • Each ban only lasts for 1 game.
  • Each team can only ban each hero once per match.
    • When a team chooses to ban a hero, the opposing team may still ban that same hero in a future game.
  • If teams have substitutes, they may switch after the bans have been communicated.

PAUSE RULES

Teams are allowed to pause for technical or rule issues.

  • Teams should request a pause using all chat, at which point the lobby leader should pause as soon as possible.
  • Once a game is paused, the team that initiated the pause should make the other team aware of the reason for the pause and give an estimate of the length of the pause.
  • If the pause is longer than 5 minutes, please contact an admin.
  • Both teams should be notified before unpausing to check they are also ready.

SUBSTITUTION RULES

  • Teams may add/remove players from the team between weeks.
  • Teams may play with any players listed on their roster.
    • In bo3 and bo5 matches, teams may substitute players between games.
  • Players may be added to teams at any point as long as it does not cause a delay to round starting.
  • Players may not play for more than one team in a single tournament night.
  • If a team does not have a match during a round, the students on that team are not allowed to compete on a different team.
    • For example, if the first team does not have a match but the second team does, no players who would normally represent the first team are eligible to play for the second team.

 

All decisions regarding the interpretation and enforcement of these rules are at the sole discretion of the NSE Admin Team, whose decisions are final.
These rules may be amended, changed or supplemented when required by the NSE Admin Team to ensure fair play and competitive integrity.

 

Final Schedule will be confirmed once signups close.

There will be 4 to 7 rounds of swiss based on final check in numbers. If less then 8 teams signup a round robin format will be used instead.
