Nottingham Trent University have been selected as the Pot Noodle Society of the Month for April!
We spoke to their president, Vteu, to find out more...
First and foremost, congratulations on winning Pot Noodle Society of the Month! Would you please share what your society did across April?
Thank you very much! April has been one of the busiest, most ambitious times for the society, taking on some massive projects and keeping the ball rolling into the final term. With the highlights of course being helping out with NSE's Spring Finals at Confetti X, being shortlisted for Best New Society of the Year 2026 and then creating the largest student-lead esports project to date with Esports Varsity 2026 against UoN's Gaming and Esports Society! Despite not taking home a victory in every event it was still a massive opportunity for ourselves at the society and the esports production course at NTU to get involved and be recognised for the passion and love we bring!
Our Spring Finals was definitely a huge project to take on! What was it like to run the finals of the British University Esports Championship?
It was incredible! Personally my University journey began as a player for NTU's Rainbow Six Siege team Trent Warfare, but to now be the President of the Society and the Director of such a massive event has been the perfect way to end off an incredible 3 years it has been. Getting to work with those in and around my course to help produce the event, as well as interact with each of the teams playing has been a huge privilege and a surreal experience to view the competition from all possible angles throughout the years.
That's lovely to hear! The NSE finals weren't the only event you pulled off in April though, with NTU organising the Esports Varsity against University of Nottingham - how was that experience?
Esports Varsity 2026 was the pinnacle of my experience at University! Being able to see the work we've put in not only as a society, but as a production group over the past year finally coming to life is incomparable and something I will never forget. The event itself was incredible and a real challenge to organise but definitely worth the final product, and because of the planning and thought that went into the event during the lead-up, we were all able to stay calm and enjoy every moments. Playing 6 games over 3 days all in the same venue posed massive hurdles but we all kept moving forward and helped each other when needed. Getting to meet every one of the teams not only from NTU but also UoN put into perspective the impact I and others had with the society and how big a part we played in the Esports space at our universities.
April was certainly busy for you then! If you had to pick a favourite moment, what would it be?
Personally for me it was the final day of Esports Varsity 2026, being able to address everyone once the event had ended to personally give my thank you's was a massive honour. Ontop of this, throughout the whole day I think everyone involved knew that the journey was about to come to an end and all they could do was enjoy every moment and make as much noise as they could for the last games of the event. Best audience member award definitely goes to Oliverde and Prez during our final match up on Counter Strike 2.
I suppose it's true that all good things must come to an end, and it's the same with this article! Final question: if you could create a brand new flavour of Pot Noodle, what would it be?
Ooooo great question, what about Chilli Con Carne? A definite comfort meal for me throughout my time at university when I had the time to make it.
