Today we are launching the events section of our platform. It will promote upcoming NSE events and give student organisations and societies a way to promote their own events.

NSE Community Nights

Do you want more out of your university gaming experience than just competition? Starting on 13th October we will be running Community Nights that place an emphasis on creative, cooperative and other themes which don’t necessarily have a direct competitive focus. Games such as Garry’s Mod, Minecraft and various MMO titles will feature. In addition we’ll feature competitive titles which are not yet a Championship such as Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, and many others. These events will mostly take place on Saturday evenings throughout the term.

Minecraft Creative Competition (13-20th Oct)

Our first community event will be a creative minecraft competition. By working as a team, or building it yourself, players will be challenged to create a new University building. This can be anything from a lecture theatre to your dream esports arena! All contest entries will be judged by the NSE Community Team with prizes awarded at the end of the week.

Fortnite 2v2 Community Cup (27th Oct)

Fortnite is a hugely popular game but there isn’t yet a established esports scene or format. With that in mind we wanted to run a one off cup to gauge interest and allow us to test formats. Using the format first popularised by Keemstar’s Friday Fortnite, competing duos will queue up together to compete to see which duo can get the most kills.

Smash 4 Community Cup (3rd Nov)

Fighting games in the UK university space have continued to grow and we want to make sure fighting game enthusiasts have events to take part in. To kick off we will be running a Smash 4 Community Cup 3rd November, more details to come!

NSE Scrim Nights

With the ever increasing number of teams in the university esports space, organising scrims has become much harder, in particular for less established teams and societies. With this in mind we are launching our dedicated Scrim Nights starting 10th October and running every Wednesday. To get involved join your game’s scrims Discord Channel on the night and NSE admins will help find you scrim partners of similar skill level. This is open to all games currently in British University Esports Championship and we will provide match servers for CS:GO.

Student and Society Events

Promoting events which are directly run by the community is essential to the health of the space and makes sure the hard work of students is never overlooked. Whether its a charity stream, an online cup or a regional LAN event let us know and we will add it to the events section. If you are interested in adding your event email me (Hench@nse.gg) or message me on discord Hench#2483.
