The winner of our first Vita Student Monthly MVP is Elise 'spacesoups' Cunningham. She was nominated (and won) due to her incredible efforts in Glasgow Caledonian University's Esports Society.

Here's an extract of why Elise was nominated:
"Elise Cunningham took over as President and has recently won two awards at GCU's annual 'Star Awards', recognising students for their work, being part of the team that won "Best Event" with her work on Battle for Glasgow, a LAN varsity event between Glasgow Caledonian University, Strathclyde University, and Glasgow University. Additionally, she won "Best Individual Contribution by a Committee Member", highlighting her value to the society.

She has taken charge of setting up this year's Battle for Scotland varsity event after the esports company we have worked with in the past stepped back, and has organised a team of committee members to handle different parts of the event, collaborating with students to make it truly student-led."

We sat down with April's MVP to have a little chat about their time at GCU:

The Battle for Glasgow will be taking place on 29th-31st May and can be watched here.

If you personally know somebody who deserves recognition for their contributions to university esports and their community, then nominate them to win - nominations are open now!

The winner will receive an exclusive Vita MVP Discord role, as well as a Vita Student Monthly MVP pin.

Nominations will close on Sunday 31st May.
