Earlier in the week we had the pleasure of hosting Senior League of Legends Developers at the University of Roehampton for a Q&A session followed by ARAM vs university students.

Q&A

The day started off with an hour long Q&A where we were joined by the following developers who gave us valuable insight into working on League of Legends as well as what it's like to work at Riot Games:

Pu Liu - GAME DIRECTOR OF LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Mo Li - OPERATIONS DIRECTOR OF LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Seth Haak - ART DIRECTOR OF LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Matthew Leung-Harrison - SUMMONER’S RIFT LEAD ON LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

Eric Krause - GLOBAL HEAD OF MARKETING OF LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

This Q&A gave students the opportunity to answer any burning questions they had about League of Legends. From the champion balancing process, to patch schedules and more, it was an excellent chance for students to learn more about what goes into making a top-tier esports title.

ARAM

The students who joined us had the chance to show off their league skills vs the developers as we had 3 rounds of ARAM, one team full of university students from our community and one team built up of the developers.

The students were victorious 2-1 overall vs the developers championing university esports players on the Howling Abyss. Ever gracious in their defeat the devs were more than happy to shake the hands of the victors.

Thanks to all of the students who came along for the day and a massive thank you to the Riot Games team who donated their time to speak with the community before heading back to their head offices in LA.
