Introducing Dhillan:

Hello, I'm Dhillan or as most of you know me AlphaKennyV2, Kenny for short. I graduated in Computer Science from the University of Hull in 2019 and am the new League Operations Assistant at NSE.

What’s your favourite esport?
If I had to choose one, it would have to be Super Smash Bros. Melee, but really I love watching almost all esports, especially fighting games and shooters.

Do you have a favourite game?
My favourite game has been changing every other week lately, but currently it has to be Pokémon UNITE and Guilty Gear Strive.

How did you get into gaming/esports?
I ended up loving esports after playing CS:GO for a while. I started watching every single tournament and event, enjoying it more and more every day. Then one day I saw a Reddit post about becoming a Gfinity tournament admin and that's where I fell in love with running events.

What was the first game you remember playing?
The first game I remember playing was one of the old Motocross games on my dad's computer. I used to call it "Man Fall Down" though.

Enough about gaming! What show are you currently binge-watching?
Does Love Island count? That and Masterchef USA.

If you were to go to a deserted island, what three items would you take with you?
A sleeping bag. A lamp. Some food. Something to kill time.

What’s a random fact about yourself?
I've only ever met one other person that spells their name the same way I spell Dhillan, and they happened to be a president Fragsoc at University of York.

And finally, what's been your favourite moment of taking part in university esports?
It would definitely have to be the Fragsoc CSGO Invitational. The experience of going to an event for a whole weekend with your PC and teammates, surrounded by other teams and admins all there for the same thing that have never previously met was amazing. Got to meet so many new friends and faces, whilst having an amazing time with the lads competing.

Introducing Kat:

Hiii! I’m Kat, I’m going into my 2nd year at the University of Warwick and I’m the new Social & Community Intern.

What’s your favourite esport?
Definitely Rainbow 6: Siege. I just love how the meta changes so much every season – there’s always something new to learn and practice which keeps the game so exciting to me.

Do you have a favourite game?
My favourite game of all time is Minecraft. I don’t care how many people I have to argue with – Minecraft is by far the most versatile game there is. I love how there are so many different gamemodes that it’s near impossible to get bored!

How did you get into gaming/esports?
I got into gaming by watching Minecraft Youtubers as a child, then decided “oo maybe I’ll give this a go” and I’ve never looked back. I’ve watched competitive R6:S for a long time but only discovered esports was something I could get involved with when I came to university and joined the esports society.

What was the first game you remember playing?
Hmm… probably Plants vs. Zombies when I was around 7? That game was so good!!

Enough about gaming! What show are you currently binge-watching?
Brooklyn 99. I’ve seen every season about 3 times but I just can’t stop rewatching it! I’ve also got a guilty pleasure of watching medical dramas like Grey’s Anatomy.

If you were to go to a deserted island, what three items would you take with you?
A deck of cards, a friend and a blender. I feel like desert islands have some exotic fruit – bet I could make some delicious smoothies…

What’s a random fact about yourself?
I’m actually a qualified kayaking & canoeing instructor! Hoping to take a gap year after university and go work in France somewhere as a watersports instructor

And finally, what's been your favourite moment of taking part in university esports?
It has to be playing with my R6:S team, the Warwick Whyverns. They’re such lovely people and I feel so grateful to be around people that share the same passions that I do (even if we’re not very good!)
